it kind of sucks that she didn't get a #1 in the uk this era
Actually, she released really bad timing and she'd done that all era. She had literally a fe days and mounted up 60,000 sales compared to number 1 which had 90,000. So not bad and next week was sure lock on, but Adele was on the Brits with Someone Like You (and that song is like a classic in England now).
So it's not her fault. Cicrumstances and bad luck. Still a platinum single.
