screaming at this thread y'all DRAGGING her for not doing much
idk if i have ever been in here, but i've been a fan since 2011 when VG was all over the radio, but a stan since early 2013. i LIVE and BREATHE ultraviolence era, the leather jacket, shorter hair, dark eyeliner look>>>>>>
Well, if the single version is the one that says (radio edit) then it's trash compared to the holiness of the album version.
Not that Those two are obviously completely different. The single version is the one that's on youtube that says '(Audio Only)', the album version is the one that's on the album and in the music video.

Get better headphones sis.
My headphones cost $900
The differences are extremely minor and insignificant... There's maybe slight differences on the vocal mixing in the chorus and some of the instruments are mixed differently, but still I would've never noticed a difference if I hadn't tried extremely hard to compare the two after being told they're different..

It's really noticeable I mean the whole base freaked when they switched the version in iTunes because of her stupid label. You can hear the differences with speakers and even more so with headphones. The vocals in the album version completely lose the charm of the song. They feel "buried" and distorted but in the original version it makes the song come alive and you can hear a lot of stuff going on in the background like vocals and harmonies that are not there in the new mix.
Needless to say I deleted that version and still use the original itunes one since the release.

Nnnn I don't know, I guess the way her vocals are obscured and "buried" doesn't really bother me. I've always used the album version and it still is the greatest song of all time so that's all that matters
But I still wonder why they made those production changes though?

Her label hated the mixes she did with Dan.

There was a lot of bullsh** I'm not used to," Auerbach tells senior writer Brian Hiatt. "The label says, 'We're not going to give you the budget to extend this session unless we hear something.' And we send them the rough mix and they ****ing hate it and they hate the way it's mixed. And it's like, 'Thanks, asshole.'… I think Lana put her foot down. Maybe it's normal for her, but it's not normal for me. Really rubbed me the wrong way. I got really defensive because I thought it was ********.
...among other stuff and that is also why they hired Paul Epworth to redo Black Beauty.
So interscope then pulled that version out of itunes cause they thought that's why radio was not playing it and changed it with the new mix, which cause the song to drop from #17 on the billboard Hot 100.

I remember her label hating it and this Dan quote, but the rest doesn't make sense(?)
Are you saying they thought the original mix wasn't played because of that version so they changed it with the new mix? It's not any more radio friendly, if anything it's the other way around
