I've stanned for Rihanna for nearly 7 years. I've loved her since Pon de Replay debuted, and I've followed her career since she was just a sunny, innocent 17-year-old from Barbados. I've purchased every album, seen her in every concert tour, purchased tons of merchandise, and even met her in person multiple times. My love for her is strong, but it's not boundless. Rihanna is a 23-year-old living her life to the fullest. Having fun, doing drugs, drinking, clubbing - the list goes on. To me, this is all fine. Especially since she still works her ass off, and as we've all seen, it's paid off! I don't even need to list her achievements, because you guys all know what she's accomplished in just a few years. However, her carefree attitude is most definitely veering her in the wrong direction if she's collaborating with Chris on Birthday Cake.
The song may be fun, but at the end of the day, it's a stupid song about ass. The fact that she is putting everything she's worked so hard for over the past 7 years on the line for a song like that? It bothers me. Not only will the media backlash be insane should BC feature Chris, but she'll also be setting one of the worst examples ever seen in the media. The quality of the remix will be irrelevant. Even if she and Chris aren't back together and are only collaborating, it won't matter. Even if they are back together and he never hits her again, i won't matter. Post-incident, all Rihanna was about was strength. Not going back to your abuser no matter how difficult it is to stay strong. She even received an award for Woman of the Year for her efforts from Glamour Magazine. Collaborating with Chris will demonstrate nothing except that it's okay to go back to your abuser. She is a role model whether she likes to accept it or not, and if she collaborates with him, she'll be setting the poorest example she possibly could. Her standards will be placed so low, especially since Chris not only beat her but is also still a terrible individual who learned nothing after the incident in February 2009.
I can only hope that these rumors are just that: rumors. But if she does collaborate with Chris, I don't want any of you to be claiming that I, RihMark, infinite-desire, and any other stans who jump ship are fake, especially since we've all proven how much we love her. Stanning has its limits, and this is a big one.

If this is an indirect response to me, I was calling the Navy fake for jumping ship currently, when everything is just speculation and not confirmed.
I agree with a lot of this post, and I do understand if Navy jump ship once it is confirmed. I hope y'all don't become Disturbias, though.
