I genuinely think the house I'm making at the moment is my best ever. I was always so focussed with making everything match in TS3 and it just ended up looking so same-y, but I'm LOVING the lack of choice here because everything's so much more toned down.

I cackled at the "world where bipolar is the norm" cause at times it feels like it's true. The Sims are easily swayed by the smallest actions, but it keeps the gameplay dynamic interesting, imo. But I love that post.

I must say, I really am enjoying the Desiderata Valley neighborhood that came with The Sims 2: Free Time that I now can play with The Ultimate Collection.

Today I played the Contrary family. Both Opal and Edward wanted a kid so I went with it. Despite being not too far away from being elders, they actually got the baby conceived . Then I ended up getting Edward fired from his job because of a chance card.

Rick Contrary & Violet Jocque are now going steady. I plan on them moving in together at college. But it was just wonderful how I got them to go steady. I had Rick ask her out on a date to a nice restaurant. They fell in love while holding hands which gave me more time to be with her. Then they had their first kiss with each other then they slow danced then I asked her to go to steady and it brought the date up to dream date status. So I ended the date right there. It was just so perfect and epic. I loved it.

Rick now has a new baby sister named Ana. I'm very into weather so Ana is actually a hurricane name used every 6 years: just like Opal & Rick. I'm planning on using a lot of hurricane names in this neighborhood due to the pre-mades having names like that (Luis, Victor, Pauline & John are the others).

They improved on babies and children enormously. I used to hate having children in the previous games because taking care of them was annoying as ****. In this game it all feels less busy and also easier. Besides, the babies actually look cute unlike in TS3. Still wish there were toddlers though.

My Sim found a boyfriend yesterday, got engaged, married, had her house extended and eventually got pregnant. Her husband has aged up into an elder and she's turned from a young adult into a regular adult. Their son aged up into a child too.
This game is so much fun. But I gotta say, I still hate the new Build-/Buy-Mode deeply.
