I learned to not care. Bey isn't like Whitney or mariah or even Rihanna who were pop acts that had an urban following, she's an r&b act that with a pop following. She's not going to sell as much as a Britney or GaGa because she doesn't make music that everyone around the world will gravitate to. R&b has never been a huge worldwide draw.
I feel more confident knowing my fave has a stronger more timeless discography and MILES more talent than 80% of the music industry. Certainly carries more weight than a diamond plaque in the long run.
