I cannot, for the life of me, find a copy of the original Texas Chainsaw. All my library and video stores have is the stupid Michael Bay remake.
Marcus Nispel remake. Im probably one of the very very few that enjoyed it more than the original. And I usually dont even watch remakes. Its was slick and fast paced. Plus didnt over-do the screaming like in the original which just gives me a headache.
Ouji was such a waste. It was not dumb per-say but it definitely lacked in suspense. 5/10 Im praying Insidious 3 will pull through, horror movies are really seeing a decline recently.
Annabelle was ******
The storyline sucked, the actress sucked, the horrors scenes were cliche as ****, the way the demon appears makes me laugh because it looks so damn childish.
First one was really dull and not really worth a watch.. second one was decent... nothing special but worth a watch I guess if you have nothing better to do
On a side note... y'all need to lay off Annabelle... yeah it wasn't as good as the masterpiece that is The Conjuring but it was a decent prequel, ending kinda sucked tho
Ouija was so horrible. I knew it was going to be bad but I wasn't prepared for it to be that bad. This movie seemed like a Degrassi Halloween special. Modern day horror movies need to stop relying on jump scenes. They're giving up the chilling atmosphere in favor of cheap scares. I know Ouija was meant to scare 13 year old Tweens who think Teen Wolf is sooo scary, but they could at least have tried. The acting was of course laughable. The theater actually laughed at the lines delivered. The lead actress was okay and somewhat believable. The storyline between the two sisters was more compelling than the actual story of the movie, mess!
Annabelle was horrible as well, but they did a great job at creating two scene with a chilling atmosphere. However, it didn't succeed overall. Again, this movie seemed targeted towards people who would find a floating sponge terrifying, which confused me about the R rating. Annabelle borrowed from many other horror movies, such as Rosemary's Baby, which wasn't smart at all considering all it made me want to do was watch the superior movie. On top of that, the movie threw out every single dumb horror movie such as 'okay, you stay here while investigate' and the lead girl tripping over air. It just ruined the believability if this movie, which is essential in supernatural horror. Finally, the family didn't go through enough which is why the ending was such a cop out.
The Town That Dreaded Sundown remake is amazing. It's like American Horror Story: The Movie. It's not really a remake, more of a meta/sequel -- the idea is that a copycat killer is copying the murders in the original movie, and the movie is about how the original film affected the town psyche just as much as the initial murders did. It's so great.
