Last year, Demi Lovato gave your heart a break, and scored the biggest hit of her career. Next month, it's time to deliver a heart attack.
The pop star will premiere her new single on Mar. 4 on Ryan Seacrest's syndicated radio show, it was announced on Tuesday (Feb. 12). "Heart Attack" is the first single from the follow-up to Lovato's 2011 album "Unbroken," and is described in a press release as an "up-tempo song" and "a celebration of life and love."
Check out a preview of "Heart Attack," which was produced by the Suspex, in the teaser video released to Lovato's official site:
"For a while, I could tell that, when people would talk to me, they knew my story," Lovato says in the 32-second clip, referencing her past personal struggles that included a battle with an eating disorder. "I think I've opened up more on this album. My life began to evolve, and I started to grow."
"Give Your Heart a Break," released as the second single from "Unbroken" following the vulnerable ballad "Skyscraper," has sold TK million downloads according to Nielsen SoundScan. In the downtime between album cycles, Lovato joined the judges panel on Fox's U.S. version of "The X Factor," alongside Antonio "L.A." Reid, Britney Spears and Simon Cowell.
While Spears and Reid are both leaving the show, Lovato's "X Factor" future has yet to be announced
