This morning this old lady was singing on the subway. And she was like, "I'm gonna do one of my favorite Mariah songs." And I got real excited, thinking she may do "Emotions" or AYNAF or "I Wish You Well." And then she started singing "Greatest Love of All" Flop stan

Nnnnn...
I do always say though that Mariah's debut is the best album that Whitney never made.
I love this Mimi. So calm, natural and not over the top. I'd love the interviews next era to be like this. Especially now that she has children and this next album seems to be something she's really passionate about

I love her like this, too. It's so sweet when she talks about Nick. When they married and E=MC² was all over I felt like that it would end up being a big mistake for her. Obviously I know neither Mariah nor Nick, and I had no right to judge but as a fan I foolishly disapproved anyway. Looking back now I am glad to see that my way of thinking was stupid and she did what was right for her. It's so heart-warming when she says: [This marriage] is the best thing ever happend to me.
"With the way I interact with my fans, it's a different thing than most people [...] whether it looks like they have a zillion fans. [...] I've been having this type of relationship with my fans since I first knew I had fans which was not till like my third album."
Whom is she subtly shading when she talks about "most people", though?

Mariah's charting in U.S. from '00-'05 is so weird.
She started flopping Glitter/Charmbracelet because of no Airplay even tho her sales were good, then she came back during TEOM because Airplay even though she was flopping Sales wise.
It's Like That was #14 on Hot 100 Airplay, and #54 on Hot Digital Tracks when it was #16 on Hot 100. Thankfully the digital era was JUST taking off or else she wouldn't have had ha comeback, cus chile We Belong Together never even hit #1 on Digital Sales despite being #1 on Airplay for so many weeks and breaking records.
