I'm sorry to hear about your friends and brother and really hope everything gets better for them soon.
This is going to sound ridiculously cheesy, but just look at SLY: "regrets and mistakes they're memories made". Meaning, it's okay to feel remorse for things that have happened or that you've done, but the best thing to do for your own sake is to try and grow from these hardships as best you can. Feeling a confused sense of identity is completely normal at various times in your life, and will pass with time as both your and positive and negative experiences shape you as a person and help you find your eventual state of true happiness.
