E=MC² Official Press Release
With over 160 million albums sold worldwide, Mariah Carey is
the most successful female recording artist in history. This year, Mariah returns to the marketplace with E=MC², the follow up to the 10 million selling #1 album, The Emancipation of Mimi.
'Touch My Body' is the deliciously daring first single from the upcoming album release, which has already set records for its massive reception at radio across the Top 40, R&B, R&B/Adult, and Rhythm/Crossover formats. The single exploded onto the charts before official impact on February 19, 2008! Written and produced by Mariah Carey, C 'Tricky' Stewart and The-Dream, 'Touch My Body' sets the stage for the next 'Mimi' world take-over...
The video for 'Touch My Body', directed by feature filmmaker, Brett Ratner (Rush Hour, X-Men), premiered globally on network and cable television, along with online outlets.
Mariah Carey is now positioned as the only active recording artist in the 48 years of the Hot 100 with the potential to surpass the Beatles' all-time high of 20 #1 hits, and has already tied Elvis Presley's record setting 17 #1s.
Executive Produced by Mariah Carey and Antonio "L.A." Reid, E=MC² will include offerings by hit-makers Jermaine Dupri, DJ Toomp, Stargate, will.i.am, Bryan Michael Cox, Nate 'Danjahandz' Hills and James Poyser.
The E=MC² album release will be supported by major television appearances/performances, specialty programming at BET/MTV/VH1, specialty online programming, and a superstar advertising campaign including television, radio, online, outdoor and print outlets.

Mariah confirms "Migrate" will NOT be the Second Single
Mariah was a studio guest today on Ryan Seacrest's show on KIIS 102.7 FM in Los Angeles. She was in the studio from approximately 8:35 AM for about 40 minutes and talked to Ryan about some interesting facts such as:
• Mariah was running late, so she called Ryan from her car (at about 8:25 AM) to say she was on her way. While on the phone, she mentioned sending her mom some bagpipes last night for St. Patrick's Day because her mom wasn't coming for the parade in New York this year. She also said she would have left for Los Angeles last night but there was some issue with the plane's door.
• She was nervous during the live performance of "Touch My Body" at Saturday Night Live and wasn't pleased with it. Ryan said he loved it (we loved it too, Mariah!)
• She finished sequencing the album last night in L.A. Reid's office.
• She misses working with Randy Jackson, whom she says is a great musician and a great guy.
• She will be on American Idol three times: April 9th (Idol Gives Back), April 15th (mentoring the contestants) and April 16th (performance). Ryan said she will get to really work with the contestants and Mariah said she was excited about it.
• "Migrate" will not be the second single from the album, but rather a ballad.
• She said she'll have a tour for the album hopefully in September. She wanted to do it in August but didn't think she'd be ready by then.
• Ryan played a clip from his interview with Judd Apatow, writer of "You Don't Mess With The Zohan," in which Judd discussed Mariah's cameo appearance in the film. Mariah mentioned she loved "Knocked Up," enjoyed working with Judd and that she thinks the film will be hilarious.
• Ryan put Perez Hilton on the line and Mariah told him she loves him and that the reason she did "Migrate" was because her DJ friends in New York were asking her about it for a long time. She said she usually hates doing songs live for the first time because it's hard to get into them that way and that she will send Perez the real version of the song (don't! send it to us, Mariah!).
• Mariah said there is absolutely no drama between her and Madonna nor between her and Janet Jackson.
• During the interview, Mariah, who was lots of fun as usual, sang bits from "Touch My Body," "All I Want For Christmas Is You" and even "Rumors" (the song by Timex Social Club).
