It's extremely dumb, but unfortunately some labels do this and stick with it. I hate seeing pre-orders up so far in advance.

We just have to accept the date. Pre-orders like this happened before, look at FROOT and All I Need (which got pushed back from October to February, just like Dua).

Warner/her team are very sloppy. I mean the whole thing with the releasedate was already confusing for us as internet music fans/stans, who are more updated about things like this, but there are probably also GP included in her mailinglist

They probably just copied and pasted the original mail they were gonna send before the mess with the coverart and album pushback happened and only edited it with the new coverart
