Enrique was a big fan of 'One Day at a Time' from his last album and said more than once he wanted it as a single. This being a very similar song I wouldn't be suprised if he felt the same way about it and they threw him a bone.

Latin songs aren't a safe bet in the UK and certainly non English songs are much less likely to catch on.

Take your pick but I'd bet it's or more of the above.

But there are some non-English songs that have done really well in the UK. I don't think Bailando would have been a bad idea from the start, being that we've gotten an English version now too.

It peaked at #50.
It was released as a single almost 2 months ago.
With only a lyric video and radio support (but that lasted only for 2 weeks), it did very nice imo.
If he released an actual video, it would have been a hit.
He performed it 2 times in the UK, but when the song was already done.
