It's important to highlight that this is CLEARLY a
label decision, not a Ke$ha decision. The clusterf*** of the entire 'Ke$ha-should-leave-RCA' situation is that I don't feel any other label, at this time, will give Ke$ha the amount of attention or promo or budget or producers that RCA gives Ke$ha. So it's very much a catch-22. I like Ke$ha's friends (Ben Folds, The Flaming Lips), but if she leaves RCA, we'd probably get a lot of Past Lives and Wonderlands and I would much rather have Die Youngs and Last Goodbyes and Supernaturals. It's frustrating that RCA doesn't recognize that it would be better for both the label and for Ke$ha if they actually collaborated on ideas, because Ke$ha clearly has great ideas -- it's RCA's job to reign in those great ideas and make them digestible for mass public consumption, yet still maintain a level of artistic integrity, but RCA doesn't 100% accomplish that. All of that being said, I think Ke$ha is smart enough to recognize the situation she's in, so she's not going anywhere anytime soon. I think Ke$ha's overall career will run parallel to Avril Lavigne's journey in her career.
