I had the change to watch on my DVR. I had the app to see the game while I got out of class and on my home, but it wasn’t working. Anyway, late to the party. Sucks to be Marcelo for having that own goal. It was accidental and bad luck for him on that part. His reaction of it was priceless and I share the same expression. He shouldn’t felt to bad as Croatia didn’t even score a goal this game and Neymar with an awesome goal later on in the first half and his penalty goal. in the second-Neymar seems the go-to guy for penalties goals in this game. Honestly, most of the game wasn’t very exciting as all I saw is failed opportunities, messy game play and not having that right correlation in terms of finding something that connects and run with it. Plus I felt that some players could’ve done better like with some Croatia players could’ve done better as they have it, but didn’t back that it up. As for Brazil, some players like Hulk and Fred weren’t playing their best and Brazil should’ve dominated this esp. that Croatia weren’t playing their best as they can for themselves. Brazil were also not playing their best period.
At the final moment, it got good as I can some actually great soccer playing as Croatia tries hard to make their goal and were full force , but sadly could’ve get the job done. Then Oscar came in and score the final goal and it was all over from there. I really enjoy the final moments of the games as I was hooked into it.
Though, I would say that there were times that the refs totally gone some of the calls wrong and unnecessary decisions were made. I felt like- “I know, I’m awake and saw what I saw and I guess I can convince myself to see the eyes of the ref, but I’m still know what I saw”.
Plus, there was a moment of the whole Croatia team ganging up on him. Damn. The ref readied too much for the simplest of things in the game anyway.
So all in all, most of the Brazil players, Croatia esp. the goalie, and the ref were off today. Oh, well, it will get better mañana. Props to Neymar and Oscar for their goals and good game play and for Neymar, some nice diving skills and just falling just because.
I still felt it could’ve been a tied game in regarding how both teams played despite the circumstances. Brazil did had more changes with the ball than Croatia though. Too bad I missed the opening ceremony since my brothers didn’t record it. Oh well, I’m sure the app and You-Tube will have the video for it later. Overall, a decent, but uninspiring game. I don’t think Brazil will win the whole thing, but they will get far. Can’t wait for the good sh!t to start tomorrow. Oh yeah, those Brazilians protesters. I can’t blame them since it will cost their economy and other sh!t.
Fine, I will play along with the prediction game:
Mexico 2-0 Cameroon
Spain 1-1 Netherlands
Chile 1-0 Australia
