Truly an inspiring masterpiece. I love this song to no end. The vocals, the runs, the FRESH timbaland production. The smash that got away I love how the lyrics flow so well with the production. It's like they were made to correspond to each other.

The remix with Usher could never. Fun fact about this song: She tried to make it happen and even promoted it on Ellen with a lipsynced performance with TIGHT choreo.



I don't know why it flopped

Brandy's second single. Surprisingly, it peaked higher than IWBD and hit #4 on the Hot 100. I really like how innocent the song is and how fun it is. The video is cute when they're all up in Times square with jackets. It really sounded like it defined the era.

Unfortunately, Justin Bieber copied this song and made his vomit-induced hit Baby. So sad. I hate how thieves work.



Fun fact about this song! It was actually debuted on BET at this teens show. At the time, Brandy was 15 so she fit right in. The kids asked her how to do the dance from I Wanna Be Down and it was just a really cute moment. I can't find the video, but if you watch The Life of Brandy on BET, you can see for yourself!

Great 11 choice though! "Baby" kind of flies under the radar as far as fan favorites go. Nobody hates it, obviously, but nobody raves about it that much either. Yet, it's lowkey a masterpiece.

I feel the same way about WIS2U as I do about Right Here (Departed), Brandy does some awesome runs and vocal acrobatics on them and makes them great tracks, but as singles it didn't work because the videos were the lamest piece of crap ever released under her name. They have both single-handedly killed album eras.

The Afrodisiac era is probably the biggest "Would of, could of, should of" in Brandy's entire career. So much could have been done with it to bring her into the new times of music right along the time Beyonce and Ashanti were big and Ciara was coming out. If only she'd released 'Black Pepper'.

Well the beat for one. The production is so nice and it sounds so good. The lyrics are really clever too and the ad-libs fit exceptionally well. The song tells a story, which is something we don't see often with Brandy.
