Girl. The original didn't even crack the Top 100 until the remix was released. Maybe all the die-hard ATRL Pop fans love the original more, but clearly the public likes the remix which catapulted it into the Top 10.

Firework wasn't released as a single to iTunes and I'm pretty sure it was confirmed that E.T. was the single prior to the release of the Kanye version. I distinctly remember Katy stans getting upset in this thread because the song was at the bottom iTunes.

Ya'll acting like it's some random person on the track. It's KANYE. Of course it's gonna give the song a boost.
