Nicki Minaj – Anaconda
First of all, full disclosure, one of my favorite songs of all time is Baby Got Back by Sir-Mix-A-Lot. The song is pop-rap perfection so I cringed when I heard the iconic Baby Got Back riff when I started Anaconda, the newest single by Nicki Minaj. Why even tamper with something that’s already been perfected? After I played the song and gave Anaconda a listen, I came to a sudden epiphany: Baby Got Back was made for Nicki Minaj. There is literally nobody better to bring the good Sir’s ode to the backside into the present and to another life than Nicki. Nicki’s at her best when she is at her most abrasive and experimental (think Stupid Hoe, Whip It) because she cuts loose and has fun bouncing all over those tracks. She does that on Anaconda: she comes up with brilliant one-liners ("***** put his ass to sleep, now he calling me NyQuil"), skillfully adjusts her rapping style to mimic late 90s rhyme patterns ("This dude named Michael used to ride motorcycles / Dick bigger than a tower, I ain't talking about Eiffel's"), and brings it all together at the end with a rallying cry to "see all the big fat ass bitches in the mutha****in' club" for good measure. It’s a brilliantly messy but fun song that threatens to come apart at the seams, but is held together with a great big…heart.

Anaconda
An extremely chaotic and frenzied hook make this song a huge guilty pleasure. However, there are glaring flaws, Nicki's lyrics are funny but it seems like she could really have gone all out more and gotten rabid on the track to really live up to the shockingly amazing single cover. Also where is that damn crazy laugh and rant that was on the demo? That was my favorite part of the demo. The production, however, is solid.

Nicki Minaj released her new single, and it's a total disaster. Some might compare this to Stupid Hoe, but at least Stupid Hoe was slightly catchy and less tragic. There's absolutely nothing to like or enjoy about this song, not the production, not the lyrics, not the rapping.
This and Pills N Potions better not be any indication of what's coming from the Pink Print, because so far, it has not delivered an above average track.
Highlight/Favorite part:
Nothing

The Lowdown: Unpleasantly choppy song has awful hook, boring verses, and terrible production.
Anaconda begins extremely abruptly with an obnoxious male voice singing-yelling the horrible hook of the song. After that, the song transitions into Nicki's first verse. Lyrically it is nothing special, and her delivery is decent. However, she has no production behind her to back her up; there isn't much of a beat behind her, and what is there is a frenetic combination of unnecessarily loud snaps, a dated-sounding drum machine, and a boring, quiet synth line. The pre-chorus is only slightly better as Nicki speeds up her rapping. Here's the problem, the chorus is just so bad. It consists of that guy's awful part, and to make it worse there are terrible, laughable electronic dancefloor-style synths that match up with his voice. The chorus then does a 360 (marked by the ringing of a bell). A distorted voice is telling you to look "at her butt." The distorted voice then almost gets to chipmunk level before the sequence is repeated. The second verse then starts with more of the same from the first verse, and nothing is exciting here. As if the song wasn't choppy enough, around 2.5 minutes in it all just disintegrates into madness. The chorus is repeated twice and so is the post-chorus. This is followed by Nicki saying "oh my god, he love this fat ass," and then laughing maniacally over the beat. She continues with a 30-second verse (if you could call it that) which is basically her saying b**** and f***. It sounds ridiculous. She then attempts to make her own sound effects, which end up somehow being worse than the production. The track never recovers and fades out.
Anaconda is an extremely choppy song. The verses and the chorus do not flow at all, and the chaos that descends 3 minutes into the song doesn't fit into the song at all. Nicki's rapping is unremarkable in every way, and the production is very underwhelming. Though Anaconda tries to be playful, it tries too hard, and ends up a mess. I know exactly what Nicki was aiming for in this song, but I think it falls well short of that. Whether it's urban music or pop music, I know Nicki can do much better. It seems like the kind of song twerking Vines will be set to, and that's not a good thing.

I think a lot of people are being unnecessarily harsh with this song, because it's not necessarily what they were expecting. As a knee-jerk reaction, I hated it too, because the song is undeniably audacious, and slightly obnoxious. But after listening to the songs a few times in HQ, I have to admit that it's grown immensely on me. It's got a catchy hook and Nicki's flow is decent. There is no escaping the fact that it's been designed and is intended to be a novelty song, and if you accept and embrace that, you will probably find yourself enjoying it too. And the video looks like it will make the song even more enjoyable.

This elecletic jam, gives you all you need in an Onika jam, an amazing hook, infexious verse and pure fire pre hook.
The Baby Got Back same gives life to eveyone who needs it, it collects and scalps all the rap girls lyrically and sonically and I dont think anyone is ready was ready for it but Its here to stay.
Onika proves really why her Anaconda DONT play with these other rap dudes

Nicki Minaj - Anaconda
So Bad It's...Average?
I won't even try to deny how hard I hated on this song when a LQ demo leaked. The Sir Mix-A-Lot sample, the verses where Nicki sounds like she's pulling a trollface/Necki Menij face while rapping, the sheer audacity of sampling a #1 hit for your second single after your first single...yeah, there's a lot to bash on here. It almost seemed like it could be a campy classic, however, a so-bad-it's-good party jam. However, when the HQ surfaced I found my two polarized opinions meeting in the middle. The good is that Nicki's verses are quotable and funny, and the pre-chorus is a great turn up. The bad is that the song really, really relies on the sample. Not just one, but two hooks are based off of the Sir Mix-A-Lot sample, and the last half of the song is basically the hooks just being alternated over and over. The beat is a bit uninspired, with one of the hooks getting the same beat from Dance (A$$) by Big Sean. I feel like the song would have been stronger and more memorable with a 3rd verse from Nicki, or one of the hooks being re-done with more rapping from her, and a bit more of a unique beat. Not horrendous, but not fantastic.
As usual when it comes to her own material, Nicki can do better. See that ***Flawless Remix that just dropped.
Verdict: 5/10

Nicki Minaj
"Anaconda"
5|10
Nicki Minaj has been able to stay relevant in 2014 without little more than the occasional one-off single while we all await The Pink Print. She started the year with amazing verses over "Boss Ass Bitch" and "Danny Glover", while "Chi-Raq" and "Lookin Ass..." hyped up her forthcoming release. So it's a little disheartening that TPP's first two singles, "Pills N Potions" and "Anaconda" should have been left in the cutting room. The worst thing about "Anaconda" is how, as others have pointed out, uninspired the beat is, and how it swallows the rest of the song. No one will remember this song other than for it sampling Sir Mix-a-Lot, which is a shame because Nicki Minaj is one of the best MCs we have.
Beyoncé (feat. Nicki Minaj)
***Flawless (Remix)
10|10
The flawlessness that was Beyoncé's late 2013 masterwork hasn't resulted in the smash runaway singles we all expected (I see you, "Drunk In Love" and "Blow"). But that hasn't stopped Yonce being on the tip of everyones' mouths, and her internet-rattling remix of "***Flawless" featuring Nicki Minaj is the victory lap we've been waiting for. "Of course some time **** goes down when there's a billion dollars on an elevator," Beyoncé asserts, taking the terrifying video of sister Solange and husband Jay Z in a fight in a New York elevator into her own hands, and when she follows that with the original's "My sister told me I should speak my mind / My man make me feel so damn fine," she's able to make that incident feel like nothing more than a minor blip on her impressive career arc. And then there's Nicki, who even inspires Bey to join in for a few bars, delivering a verse fit for royalty, and perhaps her best this side of "Monster".

| The second single from Onika's upcoming album "The Pink Print", "Anaconda" has been officially released today. The single does not even give us a clue on how the album will sound as the lead single "Pills n Potions" was way more slow than this one. "Anaconda" is, sadly, not that good. It just sounds like a sister of her earlier song "Stupid Hoe", but at least that one is kinda catchy. However, the intro remains in your head and also the "look at her butt" part. I think that Nicki should finally release something better and not to hype us all from the album. I hope I'll hear better, 'cause this one just seems like it's everywhere and it sounds just like a whole mess. Her voice in the song was better than most of the times, though. |

***Flawless ft. Nicki Minaj
The title of the song alone says it all, the song is truly *****Flawelss, except I feel it's deserving of 5 stars in front instead of 3. While some suffered from heart attacks during the song and some suffered them after, Beyonce & Nicki Minaj came together and delivered a remix to what was already an anthem for so many critics and fans alike. As if the song wasn't already great & displayed a boasting Beyonce, she poked fun at "Elevator-gate" all while channeling her inner MC and representing for her home state of Texas. After summoning Onika while simultaneously shaking our soles, Nicki Minaj comes in to deliver what some are considering her best verse to date. She builds up to a fiery explosion that leaves you wanting more, in a good way. All in all, the 2 powerhouses surely delivered the best collaboration of not only 2014, so far, but one of the best collaborations in history all while making many fans of this "dream" collaboration the happiest people in the world!

Not Anything Goes being the most acclaimed, although I guess the results were pretty skewed.
Hopefully Flawless will change that tho!

FLAWLESS (REMIX) - A MMMINAJ REVIEW
To get right to the point this is easily the collaboration of the year. Good. God. Every single aspect of this song is perfect, or should i say flawless. Lets start with the fact the added Bey verses are amazing and quality. Ratchet yet classy is the best way to word it. You can't help but get your life when Bey rap-sings "You wish i was your poundcake". It's almost as if your hair follicles pop out of your head and spontaneously combust, you cannot control the fact that you just got scalped. And then it happens, the elevator line. Bey addresses her media controversy, and you can't help but go "YASSSS". That elevator line is better than anything performed at this years Grammy's alone. Also the added bridges really helps the song connects and feel good. And all of a sudden ONIKA is summoned. You're about to get scalped AGAIN before a prickle of hair has even grown back following the events of the first time. Nicki brings her monster flow on this track and it aint nothing but PINK FYIAH. This song is amazing, this song is life. Good lord, i'm hoping my church choir will be singing this at next weeks service! Perfect efforts from both the Queen Bee and The Harujuku Barbie.
Verdict : Goddamn, Goddamn, Goddamn!

Nicki Minaj - Anaconda
Had to come in here to support this hot mess of a song because I see the haters flooding in. The song is a biT choppy but I feel the song does what its meant to, which is make me wanna shake my ass. The pre-chorus is insane and the best part of the song and the outro is a huge mess and unnecessary tbh. Just take this song for what it is, a fun, messy bop with a classic sample about fat asses. Sir Mix-A-Lot approves, why shouldn't you?

Artists: Beyoncé & Nicki Minaj
Song: ***Flawless (Remix)
***Flawless was already one of the most talked about songs when Beyoncé dropped her self titled album out of the blue, but this remix just took it to the next level. It's not an exaggeration when I say that this is one of the most memorable and best remixes of the last decade.
Every single line is highly quotable and will definitely be referenced for years to come. There isn't much to say, you just have to listen to it yourself and see how Bey and Nicki put their male counterparts to shame. I was also delighted that Nicki brought back her Massive Attack persona, a song criminally underrated by her fans, and see Beyoncé not hold back in her verses. This track has sexiness, anger, cockiness and aggression and it all work perfectly. Finally when Nicki Minaj declares "The Queen Of Rap slaying with Queen B", you know it's the truth and you have no other choices than to bow down.

Anaconda - This song is a mudda****ing JAM and yall know it. I sensed the haters flooding in here so imma give ha dis review. It samples Sir-Twerks-Alot, see: "My anaconda dont want none unless you got buns hun". And "Oh my gosh, look at her butt". This **** has me like "YASSSSSS BISH YASSSSS." Twerking till the cows come home. The verdict: Twerk Factor = 10/10 Replayability = 7/10 Kii Factor = 10/10
8/10
***Flawless - The track title says it all 10/10. Bey served a flawless new first verse with mention of the infamous elevator mess a while ago. Nicki killT it as always when she features. I feel its only necessary to review the new parts that we got from the remix. Pther than those new verses and another bridge the song remains much the same, but better without that other feature that i would skip on the original track.
