Don't even get me started on The Best Damn Thing era. The way they mishandled that whole entire album is so annoying as a former stan. First of all "I Will Be" was the Hot AC classic that got away because she herself fought to not have it on the standard album.... And Alone would've been a way better uptempo single than "Hot". "Innocence" was basically begging to be a single, it has like 50 million views on a fan made vid, and they chose the title track instead which is basically just Girlfriend 2.0. Avril literally always sabotages herself and it's so frustrating..... Let Go and Under My Skin could've been even bigger if she picked the right damn singles

Let Go could've had Anything But Ordinary and Things I'll Never Say (the other Matrix songs) smash but she had to be stubborn and force her label to release Losing Grip instead which killed the era

Under My Skin's lead single was Don't Tell Me which is definitely a decent song but I can't believe her or her A&R's chose that over My Happy Ending, at least that song ended up saving that era. And then how she like double released He Wasn't WW and Fall to Pieces in North America when Fall to Pieces obviously should've been the only single they pushed.... but guess which one she wanted

Ugh Avril, the good sis could've been so much bigger than she already was

She had a way bigger peak than Kelly and P!nk but she didn't play her cards right like they did, especially with HAC.

No, I was literally saying she has had more missed hits than Rihanna.

I think Things I'll Never Say could've made a wonderful fourth single but her label was gonna do Mobile so in this case nobody wins.
