I was replaying TS2 yesterday. If it weren't for the insane loading times I wouldn't have bothered with the others.

Free Time was a Sims 2 Expansion Pack, that basically focused on "Hobbies" like Gardening, Video Games, Cuisine, Arts and Crafts, Fitness, Music etc. and just gave them more objects to interact with.

Those objects (plus similar pre-existing ones) built enthusiasm when using them and your Sim would use them more often the more enthusiasm they had.

Because of the traits in The Sims 4, and the fact there are heaps of objects for Gardening, Cooking, Fitness, Music (especially Music!!!!) Free Time already basically exists.

In the Sims 3 base game you could choose traits as well, but they didn't have many "hobby" based objects. I mean compare the amount of Instruments in The Sims 4 to the Sims 3. The amount of Kitchen objects, compared to The Sims 3 etc.

If anyone want to disable game tutorials:

Go to Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4, open Options.ini on notepad and change the tutorialenabled = 1 line to tutorialenabled = 0, and save the file.
