Although it makes me sad that Rih will most likely get snubbed in the General Field it's refreshing to see publications mention her/Anti when talking about the Grammys.

I'm preparing myself to be okay when the Grammys snub ANTI. My main concern was getting the album of the year nomination, but seeing all these insiders snubbing Rih's name and only mentioning Adele's and Bey's as front runner, I lose hope.

I do think that she won't get snubbed completely. In fact, they'll squeeze her in some categories like they always do which is fine to me.

After saying that, I'm proud of Rih for doing what she wants and having fun while doing it.

AOTY is seriously a long shot.

- It has hit songs but wasn't the monster that LOUD was commercially

- It has its "acclaim" but not on the level of Bey or Frank.

AOTY was always a long shot. Maybe in a less competitive year but every category is jam-packed right now. Submissions and winners are going to be filled with surprises and mess

What's the thing that Frank got that Rh doesn't have? As you said, she got both. It would be unfair to nominate Frank over Rih, IMO.

But remember ANTI did spend almost a year in the BB top 10. And it's obvious the grammys looks at the charts.

But if they're going to give AOTY to Bey/Frank then Rih could win in the Urban category.

@Rocky There's nothing special about Frank Ocean album. It's the classic overhyped/ praised album that is forgotten a week later. It's sales and chart placement are indications of that (Granted I don't think he has a single on radio to push it but still)

People look at his artistry and who he collaborates to make albums and think he's superior to Rih. I've seen dumb comments from ppl saying ____ makes "real music" Rihanna makes songs for the clubs. When if you really listen to Anti there's a lot of content about being lost, unsure, or just vulnerable in love. The songs go beyond a lil club hit but because it's coming from Rihanna people want to dismiss it and say it has no meaning.


So honestly I wouldn't be surprised if based on acclaim alone the voters place him ahead of Rih to get AOTY nom.

There's no way they're gonna nominate 5 popular acts (Rih, Bey, Adele, Frank, Drake). Unfortunately, I don't see them nominating Rih for AOTY, despite her deserving it and deserving the win.

she better SNATCH urban/r&b categories tho!
