She was one of the first women to found her own record label which gave her twenty percent royalties on everything she released since Erotica up until she sold it. When she sold the Justify My Love VHS and made millions that was challenge to the industry (MTV ) at the time was very powerful and success was difficult without them. That was sort a new thing for the industry (for a female at least).
How has Beyonce broken new ground for the music industry? She's not the first person to release a visual album. Annie Lennox already did that in the 80s. And this "fearless out of no where" album was a great marketing strategy but I don't think any other artists will benefit from this, especially now with everyone under performing except for P!nk. She made album releases exciting again which I think is the biggest impact she's had so far.
