THIS!
It's pretty much clear that, had Scooter managed this era, she would have possibly sold 1.5x more just by putting her on any televised show.
As I just posted on the IY thread, I get her worries after Focus underperforming - the direction she took musically afterwards for DW is basically flawless. But, I kind of need him to go back to Ari and set things a little bit better cause this album can spawn 6+ singles and I'm not having Ari acting like Pokemon Go is her brand new single

I don't think she needs Scooter per se, she could always hire another high profile manager.
Tbqfh, here entire team needs to be fired and revamped with professionals that are willing to take her career to the next level. She would never do that though.

Only 23 when she was top ten on iTunes (even 8 at one point) for days! Her physical sales must be nonexistent. Let me go out and buy a physical copy this week.

I hate to say this, but I'm a honest person.
I think the issue is Ari herself. She fired Scooter which I thought was great because now she can make better music and does not have to be put on the back burner when Justin wants to be sober. But she's playing the game way too safe.
She does not want to revamp her style. She does not want to push her vocals to its full potential. She does not want to better her videography despite knowing full well what her fans think. She refuses to change her style. She is giving us a good six right now when she could easily be a ten and thats saying something.
If she makes music like DW at a six, imagine what a ten would be.
It is just disheartening not to see your fave reach the full potential that they can reach. I believe with all my heart that Ari can break away from the Selenas and Demis and become an even bigger star.

I agree with most of what was said here, but a few things; I don't agree that's she's not pushing her vocals to its full potential, have you heard the latter half of DW (song), the end of Touch It, Greedy in its entirety, or Everyday's high note at 2:33? She's definitely using major vocals on this album and live with the performances of DW (song) & Everyday (tbh there aren't enough live performances of these songs but that's due to lack of promo). Her videography needs work but I think she's seen enough fans complain to start changing things up (*see LMLY & Into You vid, massive improvement from the likes of OLT vid).
She isn't gonna change overnight but she's definitely improving little by little, she tried to reinvent herself into the sexy bunny thing and you guys threw that back in her face so what more do you want. Ariana just needs a better team, (I reckon she's among a lot of 'Yes' men who don't critique her) and needs to strike up some more performances, interviews, magazine covers to get her name out there. That's my gripe with this era, how the hell is anyone going to know you have new music if you don't let it be known through interviews, performances etc? You can't release without promo and expect the album to take off, you ain't Beyonce yet henny.
Srry for the long paragraphs.

This I agree with. She has too many of her friends on her team, they're too nice.

she doesn't need Scooter, she needs Tommy Mottola or LA Reid tbh
Dangerous Woman is flawless and I'm more than happy with her sound.
Scooter could get promo, that's it. I mean ME Ariana was big but she could be even bigger imo and Scooter wasn't giving her that.

I agree.
Ariana clearly lives by the saying if it ain't broke don't fix it, but the problem is that doesn't allow her to evolve.
She seems to have no desire to deliver good videos and no desire to experiment musically (had her whole album done by Max/Tommy). Everyone wants her to have her GGGB, but Rihanna actually switched it up for that album and that's what interested people.
Also, now that I'm in a criticism zone, who's idea was this weird latex sex bunny fetish look she's got for the cover? Her style and marketing is just atrocious. My Everything's Cover was awful as well and YT looked cheap.

To be fair, I never buy albums let alone physical albums, so the fact that the only three albums I've ever bought have been Ariana's - all digital - says something.
In fact, let me buy two copies. I don't even have anything to play them on, but sis is flopping here in the states. Every copy counts!

Yep, I agree with everything there. Ariana clearly cares about charts, as shown by her very different responses to Focus and Dangerous Woman following their releases. And that's understandable because it is her career. But the problem is, Ariana is not willing to put in ANY effort to take her career to the next level. She won't improve her vocal technique. She won't mature her image. She won't do promo. She won't give us good visuals / cover art. She didn't do enough damage control following Donutgate. She won't even sacrifice her ponytail. It's so frustrating because we know she's capable of so much more even though she is putting out her best music.

I think we should just wait and see how next era looks like. I feel like a lot of Behind The Scenes stuff is still being taken care of, without us knowing, but what Scooter left behind very messy. I feel that is why she is like AFullMoonlight described 'serves a 6'. When the whole Donut thing happened and after that Focus, I just knew her album would be messy and it is. But I am not mad at it, since I def. feel she is figuring out her next steps and figuring out where she wants to head to next as artist. I feel Ariana will slowly reach her full potential, but she has just cut her strings attached, so we need to give her some time to re-invent her careerpath, and she is not able to do that with DW, since that era was partly already in the pipeline waiting to happen. It's sad, but the DW era is still a solid foundation to come back stronger and bigger next era.
I get the concerns and I agree with a lot, but yeah I feel that a lot is happening behind the scenes and that is why she is more private these days.
I am dearly happy Scooter is gone, I feel the album would have turned out far more basic and I feel he would have set her up for more Donut gates or more diva rumors, to make her look like some nasty bad girl. If she ups her promo game a bit after she is comfortable, everything should be fine again.
