Well, Her legacy is already secure. The amount of kids She has inspired to pick up the guitar and started writing is just too many, one of them at least gonna be a hit. If She wants to retire early (then might make a comeback later down the road, which is 100% WILL happen imo), She can afford it.

She definitely talked about quitting it way too often though. Still...... As a Disciple......

EDIT: Should we take the inclusion of "The Lucky One" on the Red tour as a hint too? Because I find it to be quite odd, snubbing the obv show closer that is "Starlight" and the nice acoustic set song SBT, but performing TLO?

She could just be referring to a break instead of completely stop singing + if she reinvents herself and delivers an album with a new/different sound they'll probably be here for her again if she starts losing people, but right now I'd say she's doing just fine...

The thing I'm really wondering about is, since when does she make music for the general public?

Taylor always wrote and recorded music because it made her feel better, she did it because she had passion and not for tabloids & pop radio.

People are still discrediting Her for being just a "big seller" and nothing else. Her reign as an artist has no impact outside of sales charts, apparently.

The Speak Now era was amazing.
She was SO happy. Like, genuinely happy and excited to do music for the rest of her life.

Now everything changed and she just cannot wait to get out of this business. You could see that in her eyes in almost every recent interview.

Girl.... Speak Now Tour-era Taylor was crazy scary.

That interview with The New Yorker gave a nice insight. She was happier during SN release month though. Something happened in 2011, which was just a domino effect of something that happened way before in mid-2009. That how I see it.

I suspect what happened in 2011 had a lot to do w/ Her parents.

There was a comment I read in a site, on a Country music tattle tale site, which I lost track to unfortunately. This person, who were at the press room at the CMAs'11, said that Her dad looked pretty uncomfortable when asking for the car keys to Her mum. They left separately. And throughout the show, they seated separately from each other, which we've witnessed it when Her dad was rushing to Her when She was announced as the EOTY.

2011 was definitely not a happy year for Her.

She's been disillusioned/ disenchanted with the industry since late-Fearless era imo. She realized Nashville wasn't the safe haven she dreamed of... But running away to LA only further aggravated the situation, so IDK.

Those are still suspections though, from what we've seen, Taylor was really happy. Especially when Sparks Fly was just released.

The CMAs are late 2011, so it could've happened then.

I am sure that if her parents split or anything, she would be upset first but then realize that if they both want to split it's for the better.
