As it maintains its Hot 100 reign, "Maybe" matches the eight-week command of Gotye's "Somebody That I Used to Know," featuring Kimbra, for the longest stay atop the chart this year. Prior to the songs' back-to-back rules, fun.'s "We Are Young," featuring Janelle Monae, led for six weeks; Katy Perry's "Part of Me" led for two; Kelly Clarkson's "Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You)" spent three weeks at No. 1; and, Adele's "Set Fire to the Rain" led for two. The first new No. 1 of 2012, LMFAO's "Sexy and I Know It," tallied two frames on top in January.

Cats, I'm a bit confused about this... I know part of me only spent a week atop hot 100, right?

Katy is no. 2, Flo is no. 4.
Katy is ahead in airplay by 64M AI
Flo is ahead in sales by 86k, and streaming by 34k
If we add their hot 100 points, assuming 1M AI = 1 point, 1k sales = 1 point ,and 10k to 20k OD streams = 1 point (estimation) then flo rida would be ahead.
since katy is above florida, it can mean 4 things:
1. BB gave more weight on airplay
2. Physical single sales of katy is above flo (which i doubt it)
3. Katy is ahead in overall streaming (On demand streams is just one component of overall streaming points)
4. BB changed the way they compute the points totally as i believe they just add the points based on the above estimations before for hot 100 tally.

^ AirPlay is heavily weighed. This probably explains if.

I was exactly thinking about it, I think the 1st possibility is the good one, airplay must be more important (Payphone is above Whistle on the Hot 100, so it couldn't be something else).

Does E.T. still get the record of the highest Pop audiences ever on Nielsen?

so if Katy keeps up with the updates and keeps her distance (or decreases it) on iTunes, she might snag #1 next week. But the updates need to keep up, and she can't plummet down iTunes.

I've found the site 2 months after BB anounced that LFN has the highest weekly spins on Nielsen BDS Top 40 which was 12468 spins but i believe the week after that LFN has more spins because in Mediabase, it was also the week that LFN registered its highest spin record which was 14935. Though they have different numbers every week, i still think they are correlated in terms of their songs' ranking and increase/decrease of spins. When i first checked that site, it was when We found love topped the Pop songs tally and though it decreased that week, its total spins was about 12300+ but it was indicated that there was a decrease of 300+ spins from the previous week. It means WFL had 12600+ spins the week before. BB never announced that it broke the record of LFN, so we can still assume that LFN has the record still, though i'm quite sure it's not 12468 spins anymore. Too bad i found the site after LFN peaked.
