JJ is her worst song but the rest of True Blue is good. Live to Tell, La Isla Bonita, Open Your Heart, Papa Dont Preach, True Blue, White Heat, and Wheres the Party? all slay. Love Makes the World Go Round is just ok.
I think Like a Virgin is her weakest 80s album just for the fact that her best two singles from that era-Crazy for You and Into the Groove aren't even on it.
Katy Perry is a poor man's Mariah Carey as far as chart success goes. Outside of the singles and a few gems, I don't really like Madonna's first few albums either, but even at that point in her career she was showing signs of what she really had to offer: Papa Don't Preach, Live to Tell, La Isla Bonita, and Into the Groove are some of her early songs that destroy Katy Perry's entire discography. Katy is just really basic.
