Sorry, but defending a member who isn't even online, from bullies is not the same thing as ganging up on a member & bullying him with a bunch of your cronies.
You and your fellow stans were bullying him for absolutely no reason. And even if there was a reason, then you guys should've contacted the Mods or chose some other way to express your anger with that member.
But singling him out like that? Not acceptable, and is against the rules.
And also, instead of telling the OP to stop, all of you guys joined in and ganged up on that member. That is bullying & should be condemned by everyone.
