Gotta check out Rivals. While the track list screams <50k first week sales, might be the full on R&B album everyone won't stop b****ing about.
Still excited but wow am I disappointed that we'll NEVER get to hear Miracles, Slow Motion, Bedroom or that Ed Sheeran x Skrillex track. Does it really hurt to not have them in there? Or I Don't Mind for the sake of the streams being included?
Do we really have to wait for Major Lazer's album for his up tempo track?
Rival is a nice slow jam. but thats the problem with all the singles this era. they are nice songs to listen to but nothing that hits hard and will top the charts. and lets be real he needs that to sell his album and prove that he still got it
Sounding like Rivals might be the 3rd single. Was really hoping for something more upbeat. Hell, I'll take anything at this point, even though I'm disappointed a lot of the cool sounding tracks are gone now.
Mr. Gun sounds like an awful track name. Also another Rest of My Life? Haha.
The way this album release has been handled is such a mess. Idk what his management was thinking. He can do better than this but he isn't putting any effort into it.
He needs a clean slate. There's no reason people shouldn't care about new Usher music. He's an icon.
I agree that he needs a clean slate and I'm completely okay with a hard mulligan, but keeping I Don't Mind out despite the streams and success is a bold and risky move. I just wish some of the more promising collaborations made the cut, while stuff like Clueless, Miracles and Believe Me which never got official releases, would get them on streaming services later on.
There's honestly no reason to not have them out on streaming services after album launch, or at least available for download. Having all of his completed discography in one place is something a lot of people value and it just motivates us to pirate instead.
Missing U could possibly do well, I really liked how the beat would change for the chorus. This album is not going to do well but at least we're getting new music.
ok the song is good but it doesnt scream ' this is one of the best songs ive been working on for the past 4 years'.
If he worked on this album for such a long time, and canceled it more than 2 times it should have much stronger material. Rivals sounds like something that was added last minute tbh
I am more concerned about the bad quality of his new songs than about his 1st week sales. L4M was a huge flop but at least the music was good. This time around it is lackluster. Good kisser, miracles, SCTGITY, Believe me were good. But rivals and no limit are a major let down. As a long time Usher fan I know he can do better. He is tarnishing his legacy with this album sorry not sorry 😠.

It's like he just released whatever song sounded upbeat and then he doesn't put any effort in promoting his music. He's promoted Hands of Stone more than how he has been promoting his music for the past four years.
That's what happens when you put off your album for so long. This release is more in line with what RvR was, which is a decent album at best. L4M quality wise was much higher, the only thing is was lacking was consistency of sound and themes. Coming off of that is very disappointing especially because that album flopped and you'd think he would come back harder than that.
I get that he should do what he does rather than comparing himself to others, but he made us wait so long for an alright album and it cheapens the quality.
