Personally, I think Gaga handled the whole BTW/Express Yourself mess just fine (apart form the 'retarded' comment). Why should she have to lie to try and make everything go away? If she didn't copy the song nor does she think that it sounds the same, she shouldn't have to back down to Madonna and everyone accusing her of copying. If people have a problem with it, then they can just deal.
Her only mistake was ever answering a single question about it in interviews and dignifying it with the response. The songs are nothing alike, and if there were lawyers would've been involved, not silly internet bloggers and hashtaggers. It was a meme and nothing more.

Pretty much. She shouldn't have even given this whole thing a minute of her time.
I'm actually excited Gaga will go to BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge in September. That means she has something to perform + on that show they always ask the singers to cover a recent hit by someone else (Gaga sang Viva La Vida the first time she performed there)
