Speaking to The Guardian about his work for her, he explained that tracks he offered to Brit's team were rejected with confusing reasons, leading him to suspect that they went for the more commercially 'safe' option of leaning on will.i.am - who eventually Executive Produced the project.
He said he was "actually so stoked" about the tracks he sent off for consideration; "something I don't say often".
However, he added: "But they'd always come back with why they didn't like it and it wouldn't make any sense. I'd almost prefer them to say: 'We're scared we're not going to make any money so we're just going to use will.i.am.'
"It's funny – the people in charge of a lot of these artists … I don't want to say they're not real people, but it's not a fan sensibility. I feel like that's what makes the best music, when people are a fan of the person they're working with."
Dev admitted to being a giant fan of Brit - who isn't? - reasoning that "she's such a huge part of our growing up".
"And I'm just not sure whether will.i.am or whoever really care about her," he added.

Poor Dev.
I can remember like yesterday - Thomas, Jennifer, Mr Telephone Man and a few others ranting about
Britney and William cutting Danja, Dev, Naughty Boy - basically all the producers who probably would have made BJ a critically acclaimed masterpiece - was probably because their songs sucked.
Hope you girls are still enjoying the album.
