Those who follow us on Twitter and like us on Facebook probably would have noticed us raving about Beyonce on BBC Two last night, and unsurprisingly we weren’t the only fans of the current Queen of Pop. An unusual and controversial choice to headline the third day of the festival, Beyonce certainly got viewers watching from home.
A peak audience of around 2.5 million viewers tuned into BBC Two from 10PM to watch Beyonce’s set, which included a cover of Kings of Leon track ‘Sex on Fire’. Coverage of the last day of the weekend averaged 1.2 million between 10PM and 2AM last night on the channel.
Meanwhile ITV1′s Popstar to Operastar continued to flop, with less than 3 million viewers tuning in for the fourth week of the show, which saw Andy Bell eliminated from the competition. 2.85 million watched on ITV1 from 8Pm, while 2.86 million returned at 10PM for the results.
Earlier on BBC Two, the return of Top Gear entertained 5.1 million viewers.
She was so incredible. I couldn't keep my eyes off her throughout the whole thing. Actually being able to see her with my naked eye was quite surreal. She captivated the crowd and there wasn't one boring moment. I loooooved her performance of End Of Time. I am a Beyonce stan right now.
I have a bone to pick with Beyonce. Why does she continue to slay songs like You Oughta Know, The Beautiful Ones, & Sex on Fire? I could NOT get her version of Sex on Fire out of my head the whole time I tried to take a nap.
Why won't this bitch record me a ****ing rock song. 1+1 & That's Why Your beautiful are cute but I want the real thing.
