ALBUM REVIEW:
This record just sold 1.2 million in the US within a week, so it's definitely worth to have the latest record of Taylor Swift for Red to take the top spot this year. Taylor Swift really makes consistent recordS; Fearless was one of my favorite records three years ago while Speak Now offers more mature sound. It give me an interest to see what Red offers to her fans and it seems she continues to focus on the theme of love and relationships. The amazing Red opens with State Of Grace where Taylor sings song about the time when you first fall in love with someone. The title track is adorable to listen as Taylor mentions colors of red, blue and dark grey as expressions of her feelings. Taylor mentions about liking treacherous slopes and paths that are reckless on Treacherous while the third single from the record I Knew You Were Trouble. is ready to blossom as a sure fire hit. This one is about about frustration of oneself due to being heartbroken for the person who you knew at first won't be good. The sad All Too Well comes next as Taylor recalls all the memories from the happy days up to the break-up while 22 shows how happy, confused and lonely she is all at the same time at that particular age. Taylor makes assumptions on I Almost Do about what her former lover is thinking as of the moment while we shift to to the smash hit lead single for We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together. Stay Stay Stay is another upbeat track of the record which talks about maintaining the relationship despite all the arguments and misunderstandings. Taylor teams up with Snow Patrol lead vocalist Gary Lightbody for The Last Time; a mature and adult contemporary track about giving the final chance to make up. Taylor hits the dancefloor on Holy Ground while Sad Beautiful Tragic is a sensitive ballad that ruminates on a love lost. The slinky groove and fun, tap-tap beat The Lucky One refers to someone famous up to the time on how she disappeared after some time. Another collaboration from Red is with Ed Sheeran, this time for the acoustic Everything Has Changed. We move to Starlight where Taylor sings of marvelous tune and describing a best night; then the record ends beautifully with Begin Again. I personally like this song as it talks about completely moving from the previous relationship and being ready to start once more. Red is definitely a solid album from start till the end. Each tracks tells a story where the fans can totally relate with. Hands down for Taylor Swift for releasing another wonderful record and I am confident that the sales of this record will be even consistent all throughout next year.
