Anaconda
She has chosen a single that some may consider risky. I think it really slays with the Iconic baby got back sample.
You may actually hate this song all you want but the chorus WILL be in your head. The pre-hook really gets you pumping into the chorus! I actually kind've missed the leak demo though! Good "****Y" song

ANACONDA - THE ELUSIVE REVIEW After seeing that cover nothing but greatness was expected from this song. This song has some really great elements. That being said, it has more misses than hits. Nicki's flow is subpar, the chorus is really not great and most importantly it didn't live up to the hype. But lets be real, it's a BOP. This will become everybody's guilty pleasure just like stupid hoe was. And it's is a good song when you're feeling careless and looking for nothing but meaningless fun.
VERDICT: My Anaconda dont want none unless you got buns hun.

Anaconda
Nicki Minaj's follow up single Anaconda, is the exact opposite of her lead single Pills N Potions. Whereas with this single, she took the playful, wild & controversial approach. Within the first few seconds of the song, you're reminded of an early 90's Hip Hop classic "Baby Got Back" by Sir Mix A Lot with a sample of lyrics that state, "My Anaconda don't want none, unless you got buns hun." A very memorable line that opens the door to what this song will be about. Huge penises & large behinds. Although the single is fun, wild & not mean't to be taken seriously, it leaves a drop of regression in your ears. Coming from Pills N Potions & landing here, it makes you wonder what exactly will the Pink Print sound like? One thing's for certain, this is a club banger type song that was made to go viral, despite it's lack luster effort. Whether you like it or love it, the song will not be forgotten, nor ignored.

ANACONDA Anaconda just maybe the song of the summer with such a infectious chorus, a baby got back sample, and the same versatile Nicki Minaj. The very quirky flow that Nicki uses in Anaconda reminds me of a JJ Fad's "Super Sonic or L-Trimm's "Car That Go Boom" telling a story about her boy toy Troy and a dude named Michael over a beat that is for sure to get you out of your seat or you may even bust out into a slight twerk while standing up. Some may criticize Minaj for her lyrics, but why should Nicki always be some super rapping robot when her peers aren't the doing the same. Nicki's lyricism may not be with the likes of "Monster", "Moment For Life', or her most recent single "Pills N Potions" and who says it has to be. Why would it be with a "Baby Got Back" sample? It was time for a fun summer urban bop and that is what Nicki delivered. So Kudos to Minaj. - 10/10

NICKI MINAJ "Anaconda"
Nicki returns with her second single off her third LP “The PinkPrint”. The track begins and we are immediately assaulted by the most grating and halting hook I have ever heard: “My Anaconda don’t/My Anaconda don’t/My Anaconda don’t want none unless you got buns, hun”. Despite its lack of melody and harshness on the ears, the chorus does suceed in lowering our expectations for the rest of the song. We are soon transitioned to the first verse in which Nicki’s ferocity does gives the song some much needed momentum. Lyrically she has nothing to say, as she raps about guys she hasn’t ****ed, pills she isn’t on and guns that are most definitely not in her purse, but she is charming and confident enough with her word play that this can be relatively overlooked. But all of this is short-lived, and by the time the chorus comes around for the second time Anaconda proves it has nothing left to offer. Everything quickly descends into a chaotic concoction of bad verses and even weaker hooks and melodies. The production certainly doesn't help matters, as the Sir Mix-A-Lot sample denies the song any identity of its own. All in all, the goofiness of the production, lyrics, and flow make Anaconda seem like a bad experiment that didn’t need to see the light of day. Never has a song about big asses sounded so flat.

Anacona- Nicki Minaj single
grade: 2/10
Concept: There isnt really much of a concept to the song. She's basically rapping about how awesome and desirable curvier asses are (hers in particular). I truly have no problem with Nicki making fun, shallow songs sometimes, as long as theyre fun to listen to (unlike Anaconda). I just dont think that this is a good example of it in terms of execution on the part of everyone involved.
Rhymes: The rhyming is mostly average, but there's nothing really clever or memorable in a good way in terms of clever wordplays
Production: The production was probably the most interesting part of the song, although i dont really mean that in a good way. Its really weird and messy and just drowns Nicki completely. Its nice that she is playing a bit with song structure. The most distinctive thing in the production, and the song itself, is the very heavy Baby Got Back sample from the Sir Mix-A-Lot classic. The sample is pretty funny the first time you hear it but the 'my anaconda DONT' refrain is just annoying to me by the time the song ends

Anaconda
1/10
A grating mess of a song. Coming as a huge contrast to the previous single, the airy and poppy PNP, Anaconda is the spiritual sister to Stupid Hoe. There are only so many different lines one can up with for big asses, and Nicki tries everything she can to the point of desperation. The result is a sonically unpleasant mash of silly voices and basic rhymes. When the best part of the song is the sample, and even that sounds ten times worse than it does in the original, you know you've made a mess. The worst part of this being released as a single is that it comes off the heels of the Flawless remix with Beyonce where Nicki did quite well, making this effort seem all that much worse in juxtaposition. Back to square one for the Pink Print.

| After a lukewarm response to her big comeback single "Pills N Potions," Nicki Minaj set the internet on fire by releasing a provocative cover for the latest single off her highly anticipated album, The Pink Print, which comes out later this year. The picture, reminiscent of her Sucka Free mix tape days, gave fans a taste of the raunchy, uncensored fun that was to come. Throughout the track, Minaj effortlessly glides through the X-rated lyrics in an unapologetic tone that leaves both her male and female contemporaries looking conservative. As opposed to her previous monster-hits, such as "Super Bass" and "Starships," the chorus in "Anaconda" is nowhere near as glittery and explosive; instead, Minaj opted for a sampling of the lines "my anaconda don't want none unless you got buns, hun," "oh my gosh, look at her butt," and "little in the middle, but you got much back" from Sir Mix-A-Lot's iconic hit "Baby Got Back." By sampling these instantly recognizable lyrics in a repetitive fashion, Minaj creates an infectious tune without even having to resort to a traditional chorus. While "Anaconda" may not be the most original or groundbreaking rap song of the year, its co-producer, Eric Bellinger, recently described it as "the realest turn up possible." He couldn't be more correct. "Anaconda" will in no way be a genre-defining classic, but it will be one of those songs that we will listen to with while acting silly with our closest friends and making memories, and for that Nicki Minaj deserves to be congratulated. |

...8.1 | Nicki Minaj - "Anaconda" . . .A grower in nature, Anaconda actually displays great production and catchy wordplay. |
| dddddddddddddd | I was among the group of skeptics upon my first "Anaconda" listen. However, over time the song won my approval. Sampling Sir Mix-a-Lot's hilariously legendary "Baby Got Back," Polow da Don & Da Internz engineer an unusual yet infectious rap track that Nicki easily rides on with a fun and mildly goofy flow. The outdated sample and the unconventional set-up of the song make it a difficult one to fully appreciate upon first glance. However, it's ultimately clear that Onika, once again, triumphs in creating in an eye-opening, jaw-dropping track that one can't help but be intrigued by. With the new trailer teaser showing a clear indication of a controversial, bootylicious video, keep your eyes on what could be a huge urban summer hit.

Anaconda is extremely catchy, and quite fun at times, but it's ultimately an extreme regression for Nicki.

When I first heard this song in LQ, I was shocked. Shocked that Nicki after everything she went through in 2012, would release something this bad. I thought the lyrics were mediocre at best and that the production was so cluttered an disjointed that no one would like this. And I wasn't alone. Many Barbz on ATRL and Twitter were up in arms over just how bad this song was. Some even comparing it to Stupid Hoe. However when the iTunes Quality dropped, my mind changed. Now, don't get me wrong. The lyrics are still meh and the sample still sounds awkward. But the saving grace of Anaconda is the PRODUCTION. One more time for those in the back. The PRODUCTION is what makes this song good and makes me able to overlook the lyrics. As a long time fan of Nicki, I know she can do better, I've heard it from her. People have used the excuse, "well it's a twerk song what did you expect it's not supposed to have great lyricism." Please. Nicki herself has made better 'twerk anthems' than this. (see: BITT, IL, and IETS + her various guest features on 'twerk' songs.) There is no excuse. However this song is such a guilty pleasure and just gets you hype and ready to get downE. The Pre-Chrous and the "oh.my.gosh. look at her butt." are truly the highlights of this song. I can definitely see this going viral and being a hit for Nicki, and as a fan, I hope it does.
I rate Anaconda: 6.5/ 10.

Nicki Minaj - Anaconda
August 4th, 2014
Summary: Nicki Minaj's new single from her upcoming album "The Pink Print".
Genre(s): Rap/Hip-Hop
Release Date: August 2nd, 2014

Nicki, Nicki, Nicki. As an avid STAN of Nicki Minaj's verse in "Dance A$$", I can say this is exactly what I want from Nic. It's fun, it's dramatic, it's exciting and overall just a playful track. Her delivery is just so... fun! "Gun in my purse, bitch I came dressed to killlll." The sample is superb. I see this song being one of those songs that's gonna be played in all the parties and the girls (and gurls) will go OFF. I can also see this being in all the Vines. The people who genuinely dislike this song probably take music way too seriously, pride themselves on liking "real music" and might even be a little pretentious. We have to keep in mind that Nicki went to Performing Arts school and loves doing dramatic stuff like this. The stans hating on this seem to be more concerned with how people will react to the song, rather than the songs quality itself.

Anaconda
Anaconda is a monstrosity of a single. The second single off of Nicki Minaj's "The Pink Print" couldn't be sonically more different than her lead single, "Pills n Potions". All hope I had gained (for the album) through my enjoyment of Pills n Potions quickly evaporated on my listen to this mess. While Nicki's rapping is passable; the song is bogged down by the use of grating sampling which is simply not pleasant to listen to. One listen will be all this song gets from my ears.
Better luck next time, Nicki. If your album is full of songs like this, I certainly won't be bothering to listen to the whole thing.
