Alright! I am home. I am still tired but I need to share this with all of you as it was one of the most special moments of my life. Everything went so well, I am still so happy, over the moon and I still can't believe it happened. Here we go! Get some time to read it all.
As you know I am from Portugal and Mariah Carey decided to skip it one more time (she never toured here and she will never). As soon as I heard about this tour, me and my best friend decided: "We HAVE to go." It was not even something to debate... And we did.
This last week due to the Brussels attacks, I have to admit I was a bit selfish. I couldn't sleep properly always thinking: "What if she cancels Luxembourg as well?" You guys have no idea how nervous I was during this week... But the date was nearing and on the 25th I flew to Luxembourg.
My hotel was right next to the venue (and I must admit I was quite pressed how the Mariah Carey promo in the country was like... none! Even Chris Brown had big billboards, lol). I don't know if you know but Luxembourg is like the only country where there was no seats, everyone was standing and therefore there was an Early Entry ticket... The one I got!
We got in first and I made it. I was literally in the first row in the exact middle. You know where they place those little "X" on the floor? I was right in front of that and, I will be honest, I could not believe I was going to see Mariah Carey SO close.
As you know, Mariah Carey was pretty late for this show. She was stuck in London airport and she arrived like an hour and so late, she actually talked to the audience before getting on stage. I don't remember exact words but something like: "Please, DARLINGS! I was stuck in London airport! They didn't want to let me leave because of the rain but I AM HERE!". Thirty minutes after she was on stage singing "Fantasy". It was a very gay opening track but a very funny and "festive" one.
You all know the setlist but I have to share that I got really emotional during "Emotions". I had a dream ever since I knew who Mariah was of seeing her live and hear the whistles live as well and when she did it, tears just fell from my eyes. Mariah looked beautiful, her skin is amazing, her face is flawless... Gosh! What a lady!
I don't know if you know but "Obsessed" and "It's Like That" are my two favorite Mariah Carey songs so I LOST IT when they came in and I lost it even more when she sang the entire first verse of "Obsessed" looking into me and screamed "No fighting... I am leaving all behind" looking into my eyes again. I couldn't believe it! I couldn't and I still can't!
The show went normally but without two songs "One Sweet Day" and "Against All Odds". The last one got me upset to be honest but oh well! My life was complete by then.
Mariah is known to be a vocalist but her performer skills are so great as well? Like, she has so much presence, so much charisma, so much attitude. She completely slayed and who the hell said she couldn't sing anymore? Check your resources or just attend a concert of her and eat your own words. I am blessed, I still can't believe in what happened and I am REALLY happy. I am considering going to Paris to see her in Bercy now.
Funny Fact: After the show, me and my bestie went to the back of the venue - Rockhal - to catch a glimpse of her but we were informed that Meet&Greet were going to be filmed so I thought she would take ages... Well she didn't. I left the venue and 5 minutes after, I got a text saying she was there, she autographed albums, tourbooks and took a group picture... I missed it and I can't forgive myself but I can't wish for more than what I got, can I?
