Nope, anything created while signed to a label belongs to that label. It's VERY rare nowadays for any artist to own their masters.

No. When she sued Da Family one of the conditions for the contract was that she get to keep the master copies of her songs

If that's the case then I don't know why she hasn't put stuff on iTunes. A label would only sue her if she was uploading content they owned. Im sure the producers and any co-writers wouldn't mind because they'd get paid off sales. Someone should find out.

In the Dark was not released this year, but it is a FANTASTIC song. Calling it merely okay is obvious pressedness. As for Demonstrate, it was released this year and is pretty great, but not as great as In the Dark, in my opinion. In the Dark is so raw and emotional, it clearly is one of the best songs released so far this decade. Sure, they sound nothing like what's on the radio and I do enjoy that fact, but saying its amazing because it isn't on the radio is clearly not the argument trying to be made.
