I've also been pondering this. Body Party will undoubtedly be an urban smash at this point, I'd say - she still has the video which looks like it'll slay and features random people in the R&B community, and the song heads for adds really soon. As long as she performs it and promotes it, she will get back her urban crowd like she has been trying to do since square one. Then, after this, I think you (as well as I) will get what we want, a pop single release. Maybe not Overdose, but a pop single nonetheless.
Ciara isn't rihanna so i wasn't expecting the song to do major numbers with just an announcement that the song was a single, so I guess that's cute with/out promo... probably could've been more if released when it debuted...
