A radio deal is so like, unnecessary when you truly think about it. Radio will play a song they like regardless, and if they don't like the song, they'll just drop it after the deal is up (like CRTFY).

I remember the Starships fiasco very clearly. I remember the hatred Nicki received for that track and she still gets it to this day for that track. People take Starships and use it to discredit her, to label her a sell out, a poor lyricist, a terrible singer. That song is still haunting her to this day and it always will. And, yes, it wasn't the sole reason the Roman Reloaded era was a mess, but it amplified the hatred for Nicki to new extremes. It was pop, it was edm-heavy, it was RedOne, it gave haters new reasons to drag Nicki.

And, creatively, Anaconda is still better than Starships. Her lyrics are better, the chorus is more creative, and the production is fine.
