To be fair, all they are covering is classics. What don't you like? She was kinda extremely strained on Anything Goes but I noticed a marked improvement on I Can't Give You Anything But Love. Are you referring to the production of the songs or their voices together?

Boys, Boys, Boys is the second best album track on The Fame (the first being Summerboy), so I can understand why he would think that. This was before she was a gay icon too so it would have been for all the pre-teen, teen, and adult women that loved them some boys (and the gays too).

Their voices, they just both sound incredibly contrived. Like... I can see that she tried a bit more on ICGYABA, but it just all sounds so lifeless no matter how hard she tries. It's probably the production that seemingly drowns her vocals out and makes the whole thing sound monotonous. I think I played each song once, actually less than once since I cut them both short as it was a chore to listen to them. Let me not drag too much though.

If a song is unable to captivate you emotionally or even intrigue you after more than 2/3rds of its length, there is obviously an issue. Listening to that final section would not have changed my opinion, especially when this release clearly followed a basic arrangement format. I doubt it was suddenly going to be massively experimental and completely change on the last vocal section.

WaiT, I hope you're not expecting anything on this album to be experimental. Nothing about this album will be experimental or even anything like Gaga, it's literally just Gaga and Tony covering classic songs from the American songbook or whatever that's called. If that's basic to you, then that's your opinion, but that's kind of the point. This release is as safe as Gaga is ever going to get, and as long as critics like it then that's great!
