Nintendo really should make another set of Zelda games a la the Oracle series, totally different games based on action in one and puzzles in the other with the ability to connect and continue the journey in the opposite version.
I'm actually for this, I haven't played either but the way Breath of the Wild is so focused on superficial puzzles in the shrines doesn't impress me. Also I don't really give a crap about the runes so I'm not sure what's there for me without them.
There's so much about BotW we haven't seen though. They hid towns/NPCs from us, so we haven't seen how the quests will work (but we know they have them since it came up with the translation issues). I can't wait to learn more.
I mean comparing 2D Zeldas to 3D Zeldas is like comparing 2D Marios to 3D Marios.
2D overall is objectively better but the point is apples and oranges.

Oh no I know, and most of me wants to blame Nintendo for their messy demonstrations at E3. Don't get me wrong, I'm wildly excited about the game still. I just feel like with what we've seen so far the puzzles seem really obvious to solve in terms of what runes to use and whatnot.
My biggest concern at the moment is the sheer size of the game, a lot of articles could have been right when they said that maybe Nintendo weren't displaying anything beyond the main peninsula in the demo because there's nothing strictly there yet. I liked the idea of them hiding it to focus on the demo and not give anything away, but we might still be waiting another year or two.
Yeah but it's not about wanting to delay it, if Fujibayashi & co. can't keep on top of it then it won't happened. Didn't Skyward Sword take like 5 years to produce? And it literally has 4 moderately-sized areas.
Nintendo will want the game played inside and out to ensure no bugs exist too, so I think it could be optimistic to get excited already. I'm hunkering down for more delays tbh.
It's weird to think the 3DS is in the later stages of its life cycle already. I kinda hope Nintendo don't bother with a successor until 2018-2020. The system has a lot of life in it and all people are going to want is HD graphics and no 3D.
Also hoping the Switch doesn't replace their handheld line, the line stays dual-screen and Nintendo manages to not make a mistake with the next one.
They need to bite the bullet and just start working on Splatwoon. The first game sold 1.5M in Japan. They're clearly hungry for it.
The Rabbids title seems interesting, too. Color Splash turned out to be really, really good, sans the cards. If they get the gameplay right but keep the humor of a traditional Mario RPG, my wig isn't safe.
Thew new Mario Kart should be labeled 9 no matter what, because they need to escape the idea that all their initial games will be ports. Regardless, Pokémon Stars + Sm4sh + new Mario will attract a decent portion of the 3DS install base.
