Don't even think about comparing this year to the past two years.
The past two years gave us Cabin in the Woods, You're Next, and The Conjuring.
If the best horror film of the year ends up being Oculus, then we are in big trouble.
nnnn Cabin in the Woods was TRASH. (not horror, but a parody of it)
You're Next was more of an action//thriller flick... reminds me of The Purge 2 Anarchy in terms of where it went w/ the direction
& The Conjuring was the ONLY thing that came from that year that was decent. It got the most praise because there was literally NOTHING good that came from horror other than that.

Exactly I hate that is classified as horror it was far from it. Comedy would be more fitting tbh

Summary without spoiling it? Worth watching?
It's a controversial satire that starts as a generic "group of young adults are terrorized at a secluded cabin" but goes places far deeper and smarter. It's absolutely worth watching, and it IS a horror movie. Yeah, it has serious comical undertones, but it has all the elements of a horror movie.
WOW! I was just thinking about this thread earlier, and wondered if it was still open or not. And I log in to see it at the top.
I just rewatched Halloween 5. The more I watch 4 and 5, the more I hate them. I'll probably watch the entire series a few more times this fall, as I usually do. I'm excited for the deluxe edition blu-ray release. I'm so happy that we'll finally have an official copy of the producer's edition of Halloween 6.
