It's odd how Looking 4 Myself had very successful singles on the charts before release (both Climax and Scream were in the top 20, with Scream rising every week), compared to Raymond v Raymond (OMG didn't launch yet, Lil Freak wasn't getting radio play and Hey Daddy was struggling to go top 40) and still flopped at launch. Promotion was everything with that album.
I don't think the time of the year really matters nowadays, especially with streaming being huge now. He just needs to actually promote properly. Still irks me how he spent the entirety of his launch week in London, instead of generating hype through Ellen or even the Voice back in May/June 2012.

I agree. Also, he had following successful singles that kept selling an album/EP. And the hype was kinda big, because it was the time JB blew up.

I wonder if i'm overanalyzing this time, but i noticed that from time to time he posts a pic when he says about how much he's working for something for us and that he's giving his all. Thought it's just recording an album, but sometimes it seems like it will be much more he will give? And pics with polaroids on studio time and stuff. Would be a nice booklet or used to video or something...
