No, he brings his own innovations to the table. Like Beyst does with Lemonade. The sampling is one thing, but then you throw in the vocal productions and you have something new (whew! They're really something else!). Same with Kendricks rap stylings.
Rihanna on the other hand is an example of copy and paste generic. There's a trend, it's been done before, she rehashes it w/o adding anything new (i.e. Same Ole Mistakes)
