Can we be fair for a second, there is trash on ARTPOP, but the album itself has great songs too and overall is solid. The problem is it was a step down from BTW in quality (irrespective of success). Plus I agree with whoever said Gaga is still the best pop girl rn. None of the others are doing anything exciting or out-there.

Also stanning between eras is good, except (assuming others here are/were GGD users?) do we not remember the BTW cover reveal. I have never experienced such a warzone. It was like Gaga had taken a dump and thrown it at us mid-Monster Ball or something. The overreactions have never been topped!

The issue here is that ARTPOP was a stepdown from BTW for you and for many others and ARTPOP was a step up from BTW for me and many others. This is what it's all about. Nothing else. We really can't and we shouldn't post our own opinions regarding her music as facts, even though we love do it. These are just subjective opinions.

And I've said she's the best. Thank you.

Well put. The album is pretty good, it's just a little unremarkable and it's so light on content that it feels like it needed a whole extra disc to have the same impact that BTW's 17 songs had, or even TFM's 8 songs. Not what anyone was expecting for her 4th album.

I think Gaga was a huge mess during the writing/conception of it though, especially now that we know she was in pain and self medicating. She still seems unhappy to me now, but more present and alert, which probably bodes well for creativity (I hope).

That's fair, sis. Anywho, let's all agree Grammy 2 Grammy will give us all acclaim we can throw around in people's faces for a few weeks regardless!

Not only was she in pain + self=medicating, but she was clearly under a ton of pressure (much of it self-inflicted) to deliver on this concept that had been building in her head for years that most people didn't (and still don't) understand. Not to mention her management problems. I'm not surprised things turned out the way they did, I just hope one day she'll shed more light on the behind the scenes from the era. It's the most interesting part of it to me.

ARTPOP won't even be nominated for a Grammy yet alone win one. Honestly, I doubt that Gaga will ever win any award (Grammy or VMA, etc.) from now on.

I hope she isn't depressed She always seems depressed. Every era is 'I was really depressed.' I believe her because of what happened last year must have been rough. I mean the backlash was heavy. Canceled tour, sad fans, broken hip, lukewarm album that no one wants or likes, and then just endless criticisms like never before. It seems like she has self reflected and healed, I hope. One user here suggested that Asia was prescribed to Gaga, and I agree
