I've prepared myself to expect negative to moderate reviews on this top ten. Majority of the hits weren't really a commercial success.

08 · DEMI LOVATO, "Heart Attack" Debut Date: April 13, 2013 Weeks on Chart: 5 Weeks Peak Position: #09
♫"You make me glow, but I cover won't let is show. So I'm putting my defenses up, cause I don't wanna fall in love. If I ever did that, I think I'd have a heart attack."♫
After falling short last 2012 (#11) to crack the top ten, Demi makes up for that loss by spawning two top ten hits this 2013. Like a bunch of hits in this list, I didn't really become a big fan of this track upon its release. Yes, it's a good pop song and her vocals were totally slaying. Yes, she totally did an amazing job with the track and she poses to be the next Kelly Clarkson. But, it never really struck me so much until it was covered once in a local singing competition. There I realized that this track is fascinating and magnificent. The breakdowns and high notes are just flawlessly delivered. Truly made me a Demi fan!

07 · CARLY RAE JEPSEN, "Tonight I'm Getting Over You" Debut Date: March 2, 2013 Weeks on Chart: 11 Weeks Peak Position: #01[1]
♫"We're not lovers but more than friends. Put a flame to every single word you ever said. No more crying to get me through. I'll be dancing till the morning with somebody new. Tonight I'm getting over you!"♫
Undeserving? Definitely not. Underrated? Totally undeniable. Carly definitely had a great record on my yearend list last 2012 as she got 4 entries in the Top 100 (2 of which in the Top 20). However, this would be Carly's first time to land within the Top 10. Of all her solo efforts, I actually think this one is the strongest and the best. I truly love the irony - a very vivid electropop-inspired hit coupled with a heartbreaking bittersweet lyrics. I actually dub it as the happiest breakup song ever. Even though it sounded very lively, you can go melancholic while listening to it. Definitely Carly's best effort so far.
