The 8th and final track on Madonna. This song, which recently turned 30 years old, was the first single released by Madonna on October 6th 1982. The song didn't have much critical praise, and wasn't very successful, peaking at #7 on the Bubbling Under charts, but peaked at #3 on the Dance Charts. The music video, which dispelled rumors of her being an African American singer (), cost $1,500 to make, and was filmed at one of the clubs Madonna used to frequent in the early 80s.
The opening track on Bedtime Stories. Now let me tell y'all, you don't just disrespect a ****ing bop like this and make it only top 70. This deserved top 40 tbh. Anyway, this was rumored to be the 3rd single in 1995, but as y'all know, "Bedtime Story" was made the 3rd single.
What's up with all the Survival hate?? Shocking. If Bedtime Stories had a fifth single this should have been it. Plus she needs to perform that song live already.
And Beautiful Stranger so low???
I heard it on the radio this morning for the first time in aaages and it's still fresh.
It used to be my ringtone not too long ago.
The 2nd track on Erotica. This song, which is a cover of a Little Willie John song, was the 4th single from the album, released outside the US. The song was added to the album when Madonna started singing the lyrics over an instrumental for an Erotica demo called "Goodbye To Innocence". The video, directed by Stéphane Sednaoui, is a surrealistic video with a remix instead of the album version.
