Yeah, I'm not exactly optimistic either. In addition to her spending half her matches completely exhausted before a ball is even hit, the illness has completely taken away her athleticism and movement. She's gone from being the fastest player to one of the slower ones.

But we'll see. I ain't about to count her out after 3 and a half tournaments -- especially considering before Miami she pretty much hadn't played regularly since Wimbledon 2010. If she hasn't done *something* by the end of the year then I reckon she'll have to reevaluate everything.

I seriously doubt Venus will win any more titles either, but I'd love to see her at Wimbledon and the Olympics one last time. Just to compete there will mean a lot to her. And she's already collected some impressive scalps since her return. She definitely isn't the player she used to be, and I'd say it's mostly been sheer determination and willpower that's gotten her through a lot of the matches she has won - but that's why she's so admirable. Some of the younger players could learn a lot from it. Talented, young players who do have the fitness to do great things, but nowhere near the amount of mental strength required.

I don't doubt it. Venus will win a few more titles, she will end up anywhere between 45-55 before she officially retires. But I don't agree its only will power and determination that keeps her going, I think it's a whole slew of things, including her athleticism. Although not as great as it used to be, she's still one of the best athletes on tour. It just shows that the younger generations have a lot to learn (especially the number 1, getting thumped by a legend that's past her prime) and they aren't ready. Without the Williams Sisters/Clijsters, the tour would be doomed, having different Slam winners every single time and no order. Serena will put order back in business.

Serena vs Sharapova OR Ivanovic is after.

Assuming that both sisters will not pull out of their next match, who do you guys expect to win? I think Serena should easily take on either player, and as for Venus...she will win in 3

Clijsters is so overrated. Mental midget in her first career and capitalised on a weak era in her second. I don't know why she's talked up so much. As for the tour, it's nowhere near as bad as it was around a year or so ago - Kvitova/Azarenka both have huge potential to dominate in years to come, it's just that when Serena is on she's untouchable.

And it's Venus who plays the winner of Maria/Ivanovic next. Serena plays a few locals before probably facing Azarenka in the SF's.

I have yet to see her score today. And mind you I stan for Serena too. Iove seeing her trash Azarenka everytime they meet. At least Maria won 2 matches against Queen Rena...

And if you include Azarenka's coach's H2H against Queen Rena, it would be like 17 - 3 in Rena's favour.

I believe the score was 4-6 6-2 6-3 against Nadia Petrova

And it's fine, she's won like 17 in a row on clay no? Of course she won't win them all in straight sets. I think that she's the undeniable favorite for Roland Garros

Kvitova is hit and miss, but when she's truly on only Serena has a chance against her and she'll step it up in the slams. The thing is, Kvitova has a chance of winning RG, Radwanska has none. She doesn't have the game for it.

Yeah, that's the right score. And obviously she may encounter some tough matches, but she seriously struggled in the match against Petrova. Sure the weather was extremely challenging, but she didn't quite play her normal game and she had to take some pills too.
