Well it's very rarely not associated with religious conservatism but sure. He tweeted support for people who have come out against gay people. He specifically mentioned "family values" and as I already said that term has often been used as an argument against gay people.

How else is it meant to look? For the record I am pretty sure this is all just a mistake but it's his mistake and he should have known better. I was just clarifying why that particular term was important. It was the reason people jumped to that conclusion so quickly.

Let's say he tweeted support for people who happen to be homophobes, it doesn't mean he supported their homophobic views, he supported other things of them, specifically the family values which is something completely different, even if you want to think that they're the same.

They've been under attack because of their homophobic statements. So if he's tweeting this vague "family values" support to them, it looks bad. Why would they need support if he's not talking about the anti-gay stance, i.e. the only thing they've recently been criticized for?

Even if there is no critizing in something, any social propaganda always accepts any upcoming help, and it's obvious that Liam wouldn't be supporting homophobia, specially considering how much of his fandom are gay people. I'm sure he could've used better words to describe his support, but yet, he didn't tweet anything wrong. It's just people missinterpreting and making a big deal of something that is obviously not what they make it seem to be.
