FF was also following a successful era and Britney was a lot more relevant at that time than she is now.
400k isn't impossible but like you said, a lot of things have to fall in place for it to happen.
A Bionic like disaster isn't likely but it wouldn't be shocking IMO if she only sold like 200k first week if she fails to get a solid hit.
Was she? She was basically non-existent thoughout most of 2010, besides that Glee episode and some magazine covers, all of that came in the first part of the year though.
This year she's had a huge hit with S&S, doing more appearances (WT, Smurfs, Oscars Party). She's much more in the public eye than she was prior to FF release. Coming off a successful era means nothing as we've seen many times.
Of course a lot of things will have to fall into place and the first single has to smash, but the lead-up to her new era looks more promising than it has been for FF, where everything was rushed and messy.
Yeah I mean "Femme Fatale" followed "Circus" and I remember "FF" was actually a very anticipated album before the music was listened
this album instead, comes from a low selling era, and it doesn't have any kind of hype yet, the only thing in its favor is the december release.
Even if the album debuts with only 200K Its probable it will have a better 2nd , and 3rd and 4th week than "Femme Fatale" because of the christmas sales period.
I think with a good strong first single positive results are probable.
What I want most from this era is for her to release more than 4 singles!
I hope they really go in deep and not stop at the 4th single like they usually do. I want at least 6 if she's gonna be doing a Vegas residency for 2 years.
I kind of hope that the vegas residency will allow that opportunity.
She needs:
Fall 2013- game changing uptempo
Winter 2014- gut wrenching ballad
Spring 2014- uptempo
SUmmer 2014- summery mid tempo or uptempo
Fall 2014- uptempo or mid tempo
At mininum and just for the heck of it
Winter 2015 ballad single to promote at the Grammy's while she collects her 1st televised grammy. Let Katy and Gaga cancel each other out.
2-4 uptempos
0-2 mid tempos
2 ballads

Yes, in fact order one from Best buy, purchase one at Target, order Itunes and then order from amazon as a gift and purchase from Best buy and target again as a gift during xmas week.

400k would be nice
Since it should be released on December 2, 2013 or black friday week November 25 (they might be reserving that spot for ha as Katy and Gaga are doing it earlier) I'm expecting a smash single that will make it sell north of 400k.
Baring in mind that she sold almost 300k on FF level promotion.
I really want her to clear 500k again so she could break her own record for females with the most 500k debuts but that is a reach.

We are probably better than her managers. They have shown that they don't know how to market Britney anymore. Hopefully that has changed but my hopes are low.

Is more easy to say it than actually do it , I wouldn't blame her management, at the end they could resurrected her from the "Blackout" era, there are way worse managers look at Nelly Furtado, Avril Lavigne, Xtina, Ke$ha, Alicia Keys, etc.
and I've said it already several times, if the marketing of the "FF era" was bad its mostly because of Britney and her stiff weird attitude on stage and interviews that were actually big turns off and more than good did bad for the era.
Her management got a performance at the Billboard music awards, it was Britney's job to make it epic, not Managers' , they handled a tour together , but it was Britney's job to do an effort on stage, they did a documental for MTV, it was Britney's job to make it enjoyable, etc.
There's no possible way to say she was more relevant pre-FF than before this album. We've practically had nothing but Britney for the past year, in different ways (film, magazines, "S&S", X Factor, etc.)
I think 350k is a given. Anything higher will depend on how well the single/performance(s) transcend into album purchases. I feel like we're in for a big shock of how well this album will do, honestly though. Commercially and critically.

Of course Britney could've been more alive during the era, but majority of those interviews + the documentary were incredibly staged/prepped too much -- which is management's handling of the situation. How awkward was the one UK interview when the guy asked a question likely unapproved and she is looking around like "what do I do?". Again, she should be a pro by now and know how to deflect this stuff or whatnot, but they walk her into the awkward settings as well with the demands and what.
Carson Daly was an asshole, but he spilled the tea on the way they set up promotion for Britney.
I'm going to go all out this era My birthday's in November so i'm gonna be using my birthday money to buy multiple copies of the album, CD singles, magazine covers etc.
