I get why he got reported - as it could be viewed as quite an insensitive comment under the circumstances.

However what he is saying is correct (and is good for people who are now anxious/fearful about flying after these things that keep happening). Although they are awful, tragic and scary, they are still in the grand scheme of things extremely rare.

So although it's easy to say it - please don't let this affect you travelling etc. And if this is terrorists, this sentiment applies even further, as it's just letting them win.

Regardless this is enormously sad, my thoughts are with all of the people on-board and their families. I just really, really hope we find out what happened and this isn't just another 'mystery of the missing plane' situation, cause that is just so much worse for the families of the victims, you're left with a life of never truly knowing what happened to your loved ones. Awful.

Is it pretty much assumed this is ISIS related? Or are we unsure yet?

This situation is so sad. I can't imagine what the passengers on the plane went through and what their relatives are going through right now RIP.

The points he made were completely legit, but the comments re. Beyonce - even from a non-stan point of view, were completely un-necessary and seemed like as if it was bolted on for a 'kiiii' effect. There was no question about it being insensitive - it definitely was.

But completely agree with the rest of your post.

I think most people do know that flying remains to be one of the safest forms of transport, but it's that atomic-sized probability of being caught up in an incident and you're 28000ft up in the air, travelling at 550mph and there is absolutely nothing you can do but accept the thought that you're most probably going to die - it's that feeling of being in control which is more tangible in cars or any other land/water based mode of transport.

Syria and Russia have started a full-scale campaign on (the many kinds of) terrorist groups there in that area since September, ISIS has been damaged a lot and their end is on the way, slowly but surely, city by city.

Lol, I'm not bothered. Upon reading the previous pages, I echoed what had already been said. Nonetheless I was warned and no one else was. Am happy to be atrls' punching bag if so be it
