And for those of you questioning why ATRL hates Sam Smith, I can't speak for everyone else. But for me personally, I think his music is very bland and he tries WAY too hard to copy Adele. I mean, seriously... Like, everything he does is mimicking her. (He even has the same idol as her, because they both love Queen Bey.) He exercised the Adele comparisons extensively, and it's become overkill. Not to mention, he has a very irritating personality, and I think he's incredibly overrated. Is he good? Yes. But he is FAR from phenomenal. He doesn't have a voice like Adele or Kelly Clarkson or Whitney Houston, you know, someone that pretty much everyone can agree has a good voice and they can tolerate. While he can obviously sing, he's an acquired taste; people will either love his voice or hate it.
gays hating famous gay people is such an odd phenomenon. i don't think he should've won but the thinly veiled homophobic insults that have been thrown his way by actual gay people is...interesting. his speech and general existence last night was messy but it's not like he said anything offensive. people put their foot in their mouths sometimes.
idk it's all very...weird. a lot of what i'm seeing people saying is that he should act "gayer" but i think we actually need to realize that we're not all cut from the same cloth.
this whole situation is so overblown and borderline pathetic. i kind of feel bad for him.
Some of y'all can be so hateful. He's a successful, wealthy & Academy Award winning homosexual. I can understand why y'all are mad, but ch.... He's sold millions upon millions of records & has already won so many awards with just one era. He's not going to flop with his next era. Let it go y'all!
