This isn't the same problem as Star Wars. Before racists hopped on the bandwagon, the problem stemmed from the fact that Stormtroopers are all clones and they all came from the same person (who wasn't black). That's why the dorks started to cry, because it erased the cannon established in the prequels. But JJ's continuity comes more form the Original Trilogy where the Stormtroopers origins are not explained, so..
The problem with Hermione is that she has been canonically white for 20 years. She has been depicted as a white girl in official illustrations, fan art and in the movies. If she wasn't white, why did JK Rowling (who is vocal about everything) say anything? I would say this is like when they cast Michael B Jordan as The Human Torch, but even then, that was a re imagining. I can totally see were the fans who don't like it (not racists) are coming from. I personally don't like it that much
